SYNOPSIS
March 2022. As the Russian invasion of Ukraine intensifies, Tina and Yuri, a couple in their mid-30s from Kiev, find their plans to move to Vienna shattered. Tina, an anthropologist, and Yuri, an architect, are stranded in an increasingly deserted Kiev, with Yuri at risk of being drafted. Tina immerses herself in volunteer work, providing aid and support, while Yuri becomes paralysed with indecision, questioning his place in the war.
The choices of their friends, such as Kostia joining the army, deepen Yuri’s conflict, pushing him to consider illegal escape routes. Meanwhile, Tina’s commitment grows stronger. She begins to doubt her desire to leave, haunted by her past of fleeing Lugansk, now occupied, and the guilt of abandoning her city ten years ago.
As their responses to the crisis diverge, their bond frays. When a chance to escape emerges, their love and convictions will be put to the ultimate test.
